NOTICING - We Don't Need Much

I have a lovely home with 5 levels. I can work in my office on the top level or I can watch a hockey game on the big TV in the lowest level. I like having all that space - MOST of the time.

This week we made the choice to move our lives to one level. Our dog, Skye, came up lame and we found out that she has an ACL tear. Surgery is in a week and then we are looking at 6 to 8 weeks of rehab and recovery. During this time, there cannot be stairs in her life. Thus - the decision to move to one level of the house.  Of course, we need to access the kitchen, but we don't need to eat there. Technically, living and working on this one level is reducing our living space by about 75%.  AND, I am noticing that I don't need as much as I thought I did.

I have brought the essentials down there with me and life is good. It truly is simpler. There are less choices about everything and I am loving it.

This noticing has caused me to consider where else in my life might I simplify things? Could I begin with the 14 different water bottles I found in my kitchen cabinet?
